Dan and Alex, Thank you so much for your feedback on practice script #1 😊🙏
I have taken note of your advise and hope that you see that in this video!

Really great Kaylee! I liked your emotion and the pace. Your empathy was quite good as well. The only thing I’d change, and I know it’s a small thing, but I’d move your hair out of the way. It’s a bit distracting and it might throw the casting directors off a bit. Other than that, well done!

Dave Lewin Practice Script #2

Pretty good Dave. I’d like to see a little stronger moment before, and move your eye line just a bit closer to camera. You had a nice use of your space. Maybe take a bit more time (not much) but a bit more at the top before you start your dialogue, but all in all it was pretty good.

Really nice Stepan. I liked how simple you were. I would take a bit more time before you tell her you saw jamie at the movies with someone else. Just a little more hesitation there would be good, but I liked your performance.
Well done!

Very nice Cindy.
Moving forward I would use a bit more energy and be a little more “matter of fact” I did like your empathy, but just pull it back a bit. Less is always more on these things. Always think how you would deliver this news to a friend. When you’re not sure about something, always fall back on being a real person in a real place having a real experience.
You’re doing great! Keep up the good work.
Happy Holidays!!

Tank! I like your subtle glances and the inflection in your voice. It really adds to the feeling of the scene.

Really great job here Leslie! I love how you took your time with it. I liked your volume and how unsure you were about the situation. It seemed very real and grounded.
Things I would change moving forward, is I’d raise my camera up a bit so it’s more eye lever. I’d exit frame on one of the takes, and maybe look around a bit to be more grounded in your environment. We can also go over this in the next Zoom meeting.
Nice job! 👏 -

I used my little sister as a reader but I think she was a little distracted smh, next time I’ll use a different reader lol

Good read Leslie. Yeah, I would not have the reader moving so much, which made shadows in your background. Your read and your performance was very good and simple. Well done! 👏🏽

Great Alex. Very simple and grounded. Nice work on this one. On a second take maybe take your eye line other places and make it more difficult to look your friend in the eye. Be a bit more uncomfortable.
Well done.

Denise, you did a really nice job on this self-tape. It was grounded, honest, and simple.
What stood out to me was your ability to stay present and real throughout the entire piece. You didn’t push, you didn’t overplay it—and because of that, the heartbreak landed. I could feel it. It was subtle, and right at the forefront. That moment where you revealed what you had seen to your friend felt like a real conversation, not a performance.
So many actors feel the need to do more, to make it bigger, more dramatic, more emotional. But you trusted the simplicity of the scene.
Thank you for not making this more than it needed to be. That choice made it more authentic, more relatable, and ultimately, more moving. Really great work, Denise. Keep going.
