This one was exciting!
I really enjoyed getting into character with this challenge 🙏 I had so much fun! I did a teary-eyed take for this one as well 😅
So grateful for this opportunity.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Thank you!

Good job Cindy!
I liked how simple it was. A lot of times actors that don’t have a lot to do end up trying to make a meal out of their one or two lines. You did just enough to move the story forward and that’s what they’re usually looking for.
Your self tapes keep getting better. Well done!

Nice job Tank. I could tell that you were concerned. We’ll also discuss this in the next Zoom. Some things we’ll work on is being less dramatic. It’s a trap that everyone falls into. I’ll do one of these and post it as an example.
Good work!

I like this, Leslie. I like how simple you are. I would, on take to maybe take a little more time and really see the event happening in your head. I would also move the camera up a little bit so it’s more eye-level. But really nice work. 👏🏽

Great Work, Alexander!
Fantastic job on this self-tape! I loved your interpretation of the exercise. You made strong, thoughtful choices, and it paid off.
The bold decision to be handcuffed was not only creative but also perfectly suited your casting and wardrobe for the scene. It added an extra layer of authenticity that made your performance even more compelling. I believed the story you were telling—the way you embodied the moment felt natural, grounded, and real.
Your ability to bring authenticity to the performance was impressive. The beats felt lived-in, and your connection to the material was undeniable. Keep trusting your instincts—they’re leading you in the right direction.
Great work, and I can’t wait to see what you bring to the next one!

Hey Denise,
Nice work on this self-tape. Again, I liked the simplicity with the piece. It never felt pushed or performed. You kept it grounded. You seemed to have trusted the moment, which was nice.
To push it even further and make it really compelling , it would’ve been great to see a bit more of the memory working through you. As if you were really recalling the event as you told it to the police. Maybe even struggling a little to find the words because of how hard it is to talk about. Let us see that internal work too. You don’t need to show us much, just a bit of that weight before the words come out.
But again, thank you for making a simple thing simple. That’s a skill. Really nice work. Keep going.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Nice job on this one Steven. I liked your urgency and the panicked tone. On another take the only thing I’d change is to slow it down just a bit and I’d like to see you searching for the words as you played the scene back in your head. Does that make sense?
Nice job. 👏🏽👏🏽

Here’s what’s going through my head:
As I post this… I’m still kind of in the scene in my feelings and I feel distraught and shocked and helpless. The girl with the ballet pink slipper nail color who just got a Boba with her friends is gone. I’m talking to Officer Carlos Jimenez who showed up so freaking fast.
And later on, I got an alert, I imagine, on my iPhone that there is a missing child and it was the Jewish girl I saw I get taken earlier and it is just so weird. I just felt like I didn’t save her at all. I’m disappointed. I didn’t even catch the license plate – except for the 5JK at the beginning maybe. But was it a 5JK? It was definitely a brown Chevy Astro van. And this is a weird day to leave my phone in my car just because I wanted to get more work done at the boba shop.

Great job here April!
Very grounded and I could see you searching for the words as you explained the situation. You were calm and freaked out at the same time which was spot on.
Really nice work on this one for sure! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Melissa, this was a good start. You’re definitely bringing something honest to the work, and that’s always the most important thing.
Moving forward I’d love to see you slow down a bit and really take your time with this scene. Let the words land. Instead of just saying them, try to let us see you recalling the experience as you speak, just like the memory is unfolding in real time. That kind of internal work will make your performance feel more lived-in and layered.
Also, keep an eye on the facial expressions. You don’t need to do as much. Remember, the camera’s going to pick up every little flicker. Even if you’re just thinking or remembering something, it will register. So lean into stillness where you can and trust that the emotion is already there.
Again, this is a solid start, you’re on the right track. Keep digging in.

Thank you very much, Cindy. I really appreciate your feedback. Everyone else took a more simple approach to this scene, so I feared that my approach may have been deemed too dramatic.

Fantastic work here Kevin! The first take was excellent. Your pace and calm demeanor and the fact that you were really recalling the event was perfect. Really great! The second take was very good too and a much different approach with a complete different set of choices, was quite good. I would just dial take to back just a bit. But these were Great!
Keep up the good work @kevin-m You’re on a great path!

Thanks for the positive feedback, Dan.
It is really encouraging.
Having watched the other student’s self tape for Practice Script 3#, I feared that I may have gone overboard with the dramatization.
I will get around to doing some more self tapes, I appreciate that I am falling behind.

This was wonderful Linda!
The American accent was great and this part suits you very well. You didn’t push, you didn’t indicate, you were just honest and grounded.
Well done!

Nice work Leanne! This was very straightforward with no forcing of the drama. Great start Leanne. The only thing I’d say is to slow the pace in the dialogue, as if you’re remembering the events as they happened, and feel the pain a bit of the child being taken.
Nice job!

Pretty good Salvador. I’d like to see your eye line be a little closer to camera so we can see your whole face. Also to be a bit more anxious to tell your friend would help as well. Maybe a little stronger moment before as well, but all in all pretty good.
