ACE Studio Family,
A quick announcement from ACE Studio headquarters, where I am currently attempting to keep everything running while also preparing to disappear to Guatemala. 🌋
Because apparently teachers are allowed to have fun occasionally.There will be NO Zoom Meeting next week.
Our next Zoom meeting will be Friday, September 4th. I’ll be in Guatemala enjoying Lake Atitlán, surrounded by some ridiculously beautiful scenery, three volcanoes, great food, and probably taking entirely too many pictures. I will, naturally, be sending some of those pictures to you because if I have to look at beautiful scenery, you all have to look at it too. 😎
In the meantime, this is actually a great opportunity to catch up.
If there is a make-up assignment you haven’t completed, go back and do it.
If there is a self-tape you’ve done that you know could have been better, do it again.
If you watched one of the workshops and thought, “I should probably actually try that,” this would be an excellent time to do exactly that.
And remember, the goal isn’t simply to complete assignments so you can put a little imaginary checkmark next to your name. The goal is to get better at the work.
Be a real person in a real place having a real experience.
That’s what we’re after every time you step in front of the camera.
I’ll also be giving out our next Self-Tape Assignment sometime in the next week or so, so keep an eye out for that.
Until then, keep working, keep experimenting, and don’t be afraid to redo something. Sometimes the second or third take teaches you more than the first one ever could.
I’ll see you all on Friday, September 4th.

Hey Dan, thank you for reminding me that I have multiple things to work on. I definitely need to go back and work on additional workshops. I’m excited to see your photos of Guatemala and to get a taste of their local coffee, of course.
